A Gifted Man 1.8 “In Case of Missed Communications” Review
“A Gifted Man” returns with the episode entitled “In Case of Missed Communication”. It is one of those average episodes of the show where one can watch while doing other chores yet still understand the flow of the story. There is nothing very interesting or extraordinary about the case and is plain procedural. Like any other episodes, Michael managed to solve the case with his gift.

Here is a recap of the episode.
This episode tackles two cases, first is the case with the son of one of show’s favorite character, Rita, and the other is with a man named Dennis Jones who was found in the bus.
The first case was with Rita’s son Lenny who was brought home from army because of his hand injury which was a perfect timing for the Thanksgiving. Lenny spent the thanksgiving just before he had to return to the base. After awhile, Len, Lenny’s dad, called Michael to report of his son’s motorcycle accident where Lenny thought he saw an IED when it fact it was only a garbage. Michael diagnosed Lenny and asked him to move his fingers and toes but he could not. Lenny was immediately brought ot Holt Neuro for a CT scan and saw a severe post trauma. Lenny had to undergo spinal operation to treat the AVM and the Jefferson fracture. Of course, the operation was a success.
Meanwhile, on the second case, Michael meets Dennis Jones, the man who fainted on the bus. Luckily, Zeke & Kate was there on the same bus and had to resuscitate the man who they discovered to have a DNR bracelet. Michael assumed that Dennis had a hemorrhage or stroke. When Dennis woke up, he wrote on the note pad to stop the treatment. Zeke and Kate followed his orders and removed the tubes connected to him. Apparently, Dennis is ready to die since he had no family left to care for. His wife already died and his daughter ran away. Zeke had to lie to Dennis and told him he found his daughter just to keep him in the clinic. Zeke had no choice but to find Dennis’ daughter Kelly. Luckily he found her but she refused to see her father. Eventually, Kelly went to see her father who, doctors think to have an auto-immune disease. The shots given to Dennis made him feel better and agreed to get the treatment.
It seems that the show is focused on family ties, which somehow adds drama to every case Michael handles. However, if the show continues to produce the same quality of episodes just like this one, there is no wonder if the ratings will eventually fall.
