“A Gifted Man” resumes after the very emotional episode for two weeks. In the week’s episode, the show features the story of a mother and daughter trying to reconcile before the daughter gets married. Meanwhile, the other story involves the life of a teacher who might be drying because of an accidental contact with a deadly virus. With these two cases, it’s all up to Michael how he works on his gift to solve these.

Here is a recap of the episode and how it all became up to the end.

First, Michael deals with the mother and daughter case. Rachel, who was about to get married, passed out during her bridesmaid’s lunch while she was making a toast for her upcoming wedding. It was discovered that she had been experiencing the same headache for the past three days and Michael first thought it was due to stress since she’s been dealing with her wedding. Michael requested for an MRI but the results were clean. While Michael was writing the prescription, Rachel fainted once again and this time Michael concluded that she has Atrial Fibrillation, a condition of the heart where there are abnormal. When Michael said that this condition was mainly caused by stress and alcohol, Eileen, Rachel’s mother, finally admitted that she’s been drinking alcohol in past weeks. This made Rachel run out of the room because her mother promised her since she was 13 that she won’t drink anymore. Michael told that she might be at risk to have heart attack, but she refused and decided to leave Holt Neuro. Rachel then calls Rita to tell her what happened and ask if she knows where her mother could be. Rita called Michael and learned that Eileen came back to Holt Neuro. Once again, Michael managed to save Eileen who told Michael that she saw a light but heard her daughter’s voice and woke up.

Meanwhile, for the second case, Michael meets Julia, a first grade teacher who thought she had a simple sore throat and fever. She went to Clinica Sanando for check up. She thought of calling her boyfriend but told Kate that she could not remember his number. Michael immediately examined her condition and noticed that Julia was sensitive to light and could not look up the ceiling. Michael ordered to have her spinal checked for Encephalitis or Meningitis. While waiting for the procedure, Julia was wandering and could not remember why. They were trying to reach her boyfriend but he was out of reach. Michael then noticed Julia religiously scratching her leg that seems to be infected. Julia told Michael that she and her boyfriend recently went for camping and was immediately tested for rabies and viruses. The results showed that Julia caught bat rabies and the options are limited. With an experimental procedure, Julia decided to give it a go. Finally, they reached Hank and proposed to Julia just before the rabies spread and put Julia to coma.
